Does your logo talk behind your back? Is it saying nice things about your company? Well, let's hope so! The job of any logo is to communicate to your potential customers exactly what it is your company offers and the manner in which you offer it.
Are you an upscale corporation catering to executives and business men, or is your target audience male sports fans? Obviously, the approach you take in creating your logo will vary depending on your target market. Aligning your company image with its tone and message through proper logo design is crucial to the success of your business.
Here is an example of a logo concept we created for Domo Hotels & Spa. The request was for a logo that reflects class and top quality in hospitality. We were also told that these would be 3 and 4 star hotels located in business districts.
Another example is a logo concept submission for Femme Fatale, an online store that sells shoes, bags and accessories for women. The look and feel they wanted to convey was femininity, exclusivity and sensuality.
Let's take a closer look at this concept through our very own LESdesign logo. We want to communicate a message of "we are personable and fun while our service is high-quality and professional." Below we illustrate how the tone of the company could drastically change simply by changing the logo design. The various styles include simple, corporate, elegant, playful, antique, modern and edgy.
As you can see, identifying your target market and having a clear company image (pun intended) makes all the difference.
